Internal Complaint Committee (ICC)

The Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) of Jawaharlal Institute of Technology, Borawan has been constituted in accordance with the UGC (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2015 and the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.

Responsibilities of ICC

+Provide assistance to an employee or a student if she chooses to file a complaint with the police.
+Provide suggestions on dispute redressal and dialogue to anticipate and address issues through just and fair consideration.
+Protect the safety of the complainant by not divulging identity and by requiring reasonable action for protection.
+Ensure that victims or witnesses are not victimized or discriminated against while dealing with complaints of sexual harassment.
+Ensure prohibition of retaliation or adverse action against a covered individual because the employee or the student is engaged in protected activity.

Procedure for Filing a Complaint

Submit the Complaint

The complaint form is available at the college and the complaint should be submitted to the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC).

If Writing is Not Possible

If the complaint cannot be made in writing, the Presiding Officer or any ICC member will assist the aggrieved person in preparing a written complaint.

Extension of Time (If Needed)

The ICC may allow an extended timeline if circumstances prevent submission of the complaint within the normal period.

If the complainant is incapacitated or deceased, the complaint can be filed by someone close to them such as friends, relatives, colleagues, co-students, co-workers, or any associate of the victim.
